Grand Marais bay
Both Chippewa and Voyageur had long used this large bite out of Superior's north shore as a refuge from the lake's fury, with the voyageurs giving it the name Grand Marais, which in the dialect spoken by the trappers translates as "Large harbor." More photographs at www.CadyPhoto.com
